OLED Applications in Various Fields
The small-sized OLED display can be installed on POS devices, photocopiers, and ATMs. OLED displays are both pretty and practical because they are flexible, and lightweight, with strong aging resistance. The large-size display can be used not only for commercial promotion, but also for advertising in stations and airports, because OLED has a wide visual angle, high brightness, bright colors, and much better visual effect than LCDs.
What is the difference between the OLED and QLED?
The OLED is based on the principle of organic electroluminescence, while the QLED is based on inorganic electroluminescence (or photoluminescence). QLED theoretically performs better on key indicators like light source stability and lifespan because the thermal and chemical stabilities of inorganic substances are typically higher than those of organic substances. That's the reason why some people believe that QLED is the next-generation display technology that is worth anticipating. 2021-09-15
Luminescence Principle of OLED Devices
Injection of electrons and holes. Electrons in the cathode and holes in the anode will move to the device’s luminescent layer when an external driving voltage is applied. If the device contains an electron injection layer and a hole injection layer, the electrons and holes must first overcome the energy barriers between the cathode and the electron injection layer as well as between the anode and the holes when moving toward the emitting layer of the device. It enters the hole injection layer and then moved to the electron and hole transport layers of the device through the electron and hole injection layers. The electron and hole injection layers can improve the efficiency and lifespan of the devices. The mechanism of electron injection in OLED devices is still being studied, and is most commonly used.
OLED is more energy-efficient than LCD since it doesn’t require a backlight, which is the component of LCD that consumes the most energy. For example, a 24-inch polycrystalline silicon LCD module uses 605 MW while a 24-inch AMOLED module uses only 440 MW.
OLED Display Practical Applications
The small-sized OLED display can be installed on POS devices, photocopiers, and ATMs in the business sector. Thanks to the characteristics of OLED display (such as flexibility, brightness, and strong aging resistance), it is both pretty and practical. The large-size display can be used for commercial promotion, as well as advertising in stations and airports. It is because OLED displays provide a wide visual angle, high brightness, bright colors, and a much better visual effect than LCDs.
Reasons for the Popularity of OLED Displays
There are many introductions online about the working principles of the OLED and LCD. As for the rest, OLED displays have many shortcomings, but due to their operating principle, they have a very short lifespan compared to screens. The working method of OLED screens is to emit countless pixels of light and ultimately form images. Therefore, after repeated use, OLED displays may occur afterimages, strobe, and other phenomena, namely screen burns. Additionally, the OLED display is more compelling, and strobe frequencies that have a minimal negative effect on human health should be higher than 1,250 Hz.
OLED Factory: The Development of OLED Displays
Actually, the OLED research was stumbled upon. One night in 1979, Prof. Ching W. Tang, a Chinese scientist working for Kodak in the U.S., suddenly remembered that something was left in his lab on his way home. After returning to the lab, he discovered something shining and luminous in the shadows. When he turned on the light, he found that it was an organic cell for conducting experimental luminescence. From then on, the research on OLED began, and Prof. Ching W. Tang was also known as the father of OLED. In 1987, Kodak introduced the OLED dual layer device, demonstrating the great performance of OLED: thinner, darker, and quicker reaction. OLED was then formally marketed.
Reasons for OLED Factories Produce OLED Displays and Development
Unconsciously, it is hard to see mobile phone screens made of LCDs in the current market. Since Huawei Mate20X, a stunning LCD phone, there was no other flagship version of LCD has been launched. Even the core supporters of LCD Apple12 also used OLED. It officially defected to the OLED side after Apple 12. OLED display dominating the world seems to be no longer a dream when the cost issue was resolved.
Overview of Industrial-Control Displays
The industrial-control display is more convenient, fast, expressive, and can be simplified into a PLC control program. The powerful touch screen creates a user-friendly human-machine interface. As a special computer peripheral, touch screen is the easiest and most natural way of human-computer interaction. It makes multimedia present a new appearance and is a very attractive new multimedia interactive equipment.
Main Technical Characteristics of Industrial-Control Displays
Industrial-control displays should have 7*24-hour screens and static images, and the typical requirements of industrial systems are very strict. We have been devoted to broad collaboration with professional suppliers for decades as a key study area to ensure our widespread applications and services in this sector. The industrial-control display should be designed and manufactured for 7*24/365 days of uninterrupted operation. And the front safety glass should be in the laminated layer in front of the LCD panel. The ambient brightness control can automatically regulate the brightness according to the surrounding lighting conditions, thus improving the image quality and reducing power consumption.
