With the continuous advancement of science and technology, new breakthroughs have been made in screen materials. Currently, there are two main types of mobile phone screens on the market: OLED screens and LCD screens. The following OLED factory describes the origin of these two materials.
The OLED study was actually discovered by chance. One night in 1979, Dr. Deng Qingyun, a Chinese scientist engaged in scientific research at Kodak, USA, suddenly remembered that on his way home, he had forgotten something in the laboratory, and when he returned, he found something bright in the dark. Turn on the lamp and find that it is an organic battery that emits light for experimentation. OLED research began, and Dr. Deng is also known as the father of OLED. OLED was officially commercialized in 1987, and Kodak introduced the OLED dual-layer device, which demonstrated the excellent performance of OLED: thinner, darker, and more responsive. Subsequently, more and more international giants joined the research and development of OLED.
LCD may not be a new term for many users, but the history of this technology may be far beyond our imagination. As early as the end of the 19th century, Austrian botanists discovered liquid crystals, or liquid crystals, which meant that a substance had the fluidity of a liquid and had a certain arrangement similar to a crystal. Under the action of the electric field, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules will change, thus affecting its optical properties. This phenomenon is called the electro-optic effect. Using the electro-optic effect of liquid crystals, British scientists made the first liquid crystal display, or LCD, in the last century.
OLED screens occupy the market trend at this stage. OLED screens led by Samsung have many advantages over traditional LCD screens. As a result, many mobile phone manufacturers shift their focus from LCD screens to OLED screens. There are many mobile phones nowadays that use OLED screens.
